I have a two year old female collie that goes crazy when anything with a motor is started up. The leaf blower, roto tiller and also tries to attack cars jumping and biting at whats making the noise. She does not seem to mind the vacuum cleaner but goes in another room when I am using it but she doesn’t attack it. She actually jumps and bites at whomever is using the equipment. How do I stop this behavior?

My brother wants a 50 horse boat motor with a tiller hand. I want to buy a good used one with low hours and an affordable price range. What’s the price range for a boat motor from 1985 onward? Where do I buy it? I know I am quite oblivious about these things. Please enlighten me.
How can i put reverse on my rear tine tiller it did have reverse an its old and i put a new motor?

Its really old maybe 25 or 30 years old it is belt driven two main belts to operate it , it did have a reverse belt . But the new motor a only has one shaft and the old motor had two which ive been told they dont make them like that any more . But i havnt figured out how to put reverse on there no big need for reverse . But if any one knows how to make it have reverse for a cheap price and not to hard would be great ?

My outboard motor will not go in gear using the shifter, it will however go in to reverse. My father had the same problem when he had the boat. He would just reach back and tap the arm the cable is connected to with a boat paddle and it would go in gear and he did this for several years. So when he passed it on to me I thought it needed a new cable and bought a new one. It still didnt work, unless I didnt have it adjusted right or something (didnt really know what I was doing). After replacing the cable the lower unit went out shortly afterward (the motor is 18 years old and that was the first and only major problem.). After putting it in the shop and having that fixed, the guy hooked the cable up correctly and the first time I took the boat out it started right up and went right in to gear using the shifter. About an hour later I BARELY bumped a stump and the motor died, after restarting, it wouldnt go in to gear using the shifter again and still won’t, it’s back to tapping it with the boat paddle again. This happened last summer and I’m still using the boat paddle method. I’ve tried adjusting the cable but it still can’t get it to work, unless I’m not doing it right or enough. It’s a little annoying. When I remove the cable I can manually put it in gear by hand with little effort at all, so why does it struggle using the shifter control???? The shift cable is practically brand new!! Is it the shifter? Any help would be much appreciated. It’s such a pain because my choke doesn’t work anymore and I have to take the cowling off, put my foot over the carb, reach across the boat and turn the key, then jump in the seat, give gas, and try to “wack” it in to gear for it dies! LOL! It sucks! Kind of embarrassing too. Thanks in advance!! By the way its a ‘91 Evinrude 28hp SPL and it’s not a tiller motor it has steering column.

The motor in question is a 2001 Hoda 15 HP short shaft. I don’t want to go through the business of building a steering console in my boat and buying all the steering components.

I have a 9.9 evenrude electric start tiller steering and it is about 9 years old.It also has a knob at the end of the tiller that rotates but I do not know what it is for.I also have a clip on kill switch and that is how I have been shutting the engine off. Is there an easier way to turn the engine off????

the tiller is a walk behind and has 4 tines.The gas tank is large and on top of the tiller. I need to know when it was made and if I can get a manual for it. the model # is- V55D-2178P, and the serial # is- 0285350. It is a 5.5 hourse power engine.The crank is on top of the engine, you flip it over and crank it clockwise till it stops. Then you release a lever and the engine turns over.

I have a tiller motor with a steady throttle and a mountian bike. How can i put the motor on the bike and obviouly have some sourt of engine-wheel dis-engager, like a cluth. And also, how do i put the throttle on the handle-bar with a spring throttle (if i let go of the throttle, the engine speed should slow down) like a dirt-bike?

i knocked a hole in the gas tank on the rototiller…the gas tank is plastic…i tried a sealant purchace at the auto supply for repairing hole in a gas tank, however, it did not adheare to the plastic and didnt work…the employee didnt know about any other sealants ..any suggestions? it is a 8 horse tecumseh with a gallion tank… a replacemnt tank cost $82…dont want to pay that if i can fix a small hole in the tank
